How Oz Fund Raising works

It works on the basis that each individual Australian preschool, school or group gets assigned a unique identity number after they sign up.  Then everyone (parents) who clicks on the banners on the school's webpage are tracked via that unique number.  When that particular person buys from the merchant, the sale gets tracked as one that has been referred to the merchant by that particular school because of the unique tracking number.  A percentage of that sale then gets deposited into your school's account and is paid out monthly to your school when the threshold hits $50.  It's that easy.  No mess, no fuss.

Are there any start up costs with Oz Fund Raising?

There are currently 2 plans available at Oz Fund Raising :
1. The basic account - this is FREE.  It includes a web page with your school's details and a maximum of up to 5 merchants displayed on the page.  You can pick which ones you prefer from a list and change them as often as you like.  Click here to see a sample or click here to start one.  Trial it by clicking here.

2. The premier account - this will cost you just $4.95 per month.  It includes up to 3 webpages - one for the merchants and shopping (as in the basic account) and another 2 which you can use to display your school's activities, important notices, your school newsletter, and a mailing list so that you can send emails to parents you need to contact.  Click here to see a sample or click here to start one.

Can I still use other methods of Fund Raising?

Why not?  You can still hold you annual chocolate drives and Krispy Kreme sales but I can tell you upfront now that it's a whole lot easier this way and you can potentially raise a lot more funds.

What are the benefits to parents with this way of Fund Raising as compared to the usual chocolate drive?

When my son comes home with another box of chocolates to sell I just groan because whilst in my heart of hearts I support the whole fundraising cause, I really dislike the method.  It means having to take the whole box to work only to find that there are already 3 other boxes there for other people's schools, it means having to count on people being honest and putting the money in there as they take the chocolates out, it means chasing those who have taken the chocolates but haven't paid, it means having a lot of change in my pocket so that I can dish it out when someone takes out a $20 bill for a $4 box of chocolate, it means having to foot the bill when the money magically disappears or having to figure out who I owe change to when the money works out more than it should be.  Online shopping takes away all that grief.  I promote it to my friends, they buy what they need (not what they feel compelled to buy just because I'm their friend), there's no hassle, no stress, and I know that it raises funds for my son's school.  A win-win situation.

What are the benefits to organizations and schools with this way of Fund Raising as compared to the usual chocolate drive?

Well for one thing, there's no more hassling the parents to return those chocolate boxes.  I know this for a fact, how many times have you had to send notes to forgetful parents to remind them to bring the money and boxes back?  All that time spent in the organization, the accounting, the stress - there is a better way.  The online shopping method is FREE for you to join, it's simple, you have absolute control - you decide if you want to promote flowers come Valentine's Day or toys come Christmas, log in and alter the details as often as you like.  What's more, you can now fundraise 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Click here to see the full range of merchants you can advertise for.  All you need to do is let the parents know that they can shop online for your school.  More often than not, the items are similarly priced or sometimes even cheaper than your store bought variety.  The money gets deposited to your school account directly every month or opt to have a cheque mailed out to you.  Click here to start an account.
