Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do
I need to know how to build a webpage to do any of this?
No. That is the whole purpose
of Oz FundRaising. I've created it so that it's a template
and all you do is to pick the relevant things you want on that page
and voila - it's all done for you. Having said that, because
it is a template, there are certain things which you cannot alter
ie the font type, the general layout of the page. Go for a

What
about the premier account with the newsletter and pictures of artwork
- how does that work?
That works like a form for you
to fill in and again, once you've hit submit, it will all come up
on the page. So for example, in the newsletter, you will be
asked to type in what you want in the 1st paragraph, then another
section for the second etc, then hit submit and voila...your details
all on the page. With the pictures, you will need to have
had the pictures scanned into your computer already in a jpg or
gif format before this can be uploaded into the page. Again,
all you need to do is to type in where on your computer that picture
is located and hit submit - voila, it comes up on the page. I
would ask that you restrict the number of pictures on there to 2
maximum - just so it doesn't look too crowded. You can change
them as often as you like though.
How
does payment work for the Premier Account ie the monthly $4.95 fee?
Payment is processed via Paymate.
There are the usual fees associated with bank to bank transfers
and credit card payments. When you visit Paymate you will
be asked if you want to use the 'recurring payment' option - otherwise
you will need to log into Paymate monthly to make that payment.
You can cancel the recurring payment option any time you want.
I would recommend you use the recurring payment option to
save you the hassle. You will be reminded by email 3 days
before payment is deducted from your account every month.
Can
I start off with the Basic account which is free and then upgrade
it later?
You sure can. I think you
will find that parents will visit the site more often if they know
that there's a newsletter to read or if their child's artwork is
on the site so it will add value to your webpage and also encourage
them to visit often and shop more.
How
come there are different size banners - is one better than another?
No one banner isn't better than
the other. You just need to decide which banners you prefer
to put on your page. Some people like them long and flat,
others prefer just squarish buttons. Some will like the look/wording
of one over another and therefore the decision is made based on
that. It does look better when you have banners of similar
size on the page - it just looks more uniform. But if you
like the patchwork look - go ahead and do it - the page is yours
to fiddle with.
How
come not all the different merchants featured on CommissionMonster
are listed here?
That
was my decision. After all I did want to maintain a family
friendly feel to the site so I've left out certain merchants listed
in CommissionMonster which I felt didn't 'fit in' with the 'family
friendly' theme of the site. Notably lingerie merchants and
gambling merchants. If you feel that there are other merchants
listed in CommissionMonster which you would like to have listed
here, send
me an email and I
will consider them.
I
noticed that my email address is up there and the phone number -
are those compulsory?
No
it isn't. I understand that some people would prefer that
they do not have a contact phone number listed up there so that
they don't receive unwanted phone calls. Email is sent via
a form so it isn't 'visible' to anyone on the net - if they want
to send an email to you, they will need to fill in a form. This
will stop a lot of spam mail but naturally nothing is ever fullproof.
I will not sell your details to anyone else as I respect
your privacy. The address is there so that parents will know
that it is the correct school they are shopping for - there could
be 10 ABC preschools and if none of them had an address which one
is the one that their child is in?
Can
I sign up for more than 1 account?
You can so long as the accounts
are for different schools or preschools or sporting groups. You
cannot sign up for more than 1 account with the same organization.
Oz FundRaising is a service to make fundraising easier for
you - please do not abuse it. If you are caught abusing it
your account will be terminated.
How
long does it take for my account to be active?
It
depends. Once you have signed up with CommissionMonster and
they've approved you, you will receive an email telling you how
to log into your account at CommissionMonster. They are responsible
for tracking the sales from the different merchants that you feature.
Once you've been approved, you need to log into your account
here and change your temporary id number to your unique
identification number
assigned to you by CommissionMonster - once that is done, your webpage
at OzFundRaising is then 'live'.
So it all depends on how long it takes CommissionMonster to
approve your account - it shouldn't take long, usually within 2-3
days.
